KNOWN HISTORY: None 6/2/17 Unaltered female, Stray Previously lived with: unknown SAFER ASSESSMENT: 6/6/17 Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Squeeze 1/2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. Summary: Spinderella was friendly and allowed handling. No concerns were seen during the handling assessment. PLAYGROUP: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Spinderella displays stiff body language with male and female dogs. When a dog jumped on the fence, Spinderlla responded by jumping onto her back and growling. Spinderella came into the Care Center as a stray so her previous behavior around other dogs is unknown. Due to Spinderella’s low sociability towards other dogs, the Behavior Department recommends that she be the only resident dog. INTAKE BEHAVIOR 6/2/17 Spinderella allowed all handling during intake. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 6/3/17 Spinderella allows all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Spinderella so we cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment. Spinderella displayed medium energy and movement throughout assessment. Spinderella will need daily mental and physical activity to keep her engaged and exercised. RECOMMENDATIONS: Experience (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially with Behaviors outlined below). _x_Single-dog home/Recommend no dog parks: Due to Spinderella’s low sociability towards other dogs, the Behavior Department recommends that she be the only resident dog. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Spinderella displays stiff body language with male and female dogs. When a dog jumped on the fence, Spinderlla responded by jumping onto her back and growling. Spinderella came into the Care Center as a stray so her previous behavior around other dogs is unknown. Due to Spinderella low sociability towards other dogs, the Behavior Department recommends that she be the only resident dog. 6/4: Spinderella greets a novel male body with a loose wiggly body before exploring the pen. 6/5: Spinderella was introduced to a social female today. She greeted her with a slightly stiff, assertive posture but relaxed as the session continued. However, when the greeter dog moved into the corner and jumped up onto the fence, Spinderlla responded by jumping onto her back and growling. The helper dog whipped her head around and growled to correct Spinderella’s behavior. When the helper dog dropped her paws back onto the ground Spinderella opened her jaw and placed it over the helper dog’s neck. 6/6: Spinderella display stiff and uncomfortable body language when interacting with a playful male dog. She offers appropriate correction by head whipping when he mounts her.

Allows all handling Evidence of Cruelty seen – No Evidence of Trauma seen – No Objective P = WNL R = WNL BCS 5/9 EENT: Early nuclear sclerosis, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Worn stained teeth, chipped canines, pink mm PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Female, developed mammary tissue MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, ~3-4cm fluctuant mass thats firm in center at right caudal hindlimb just proximal to stifle, 3 pronged skin tag at distal right hind dorsal digit 3 CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Geriatric, masses, dental disease Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC Prognosis: Good SURGERY: Permanent waiver due to age
