A Little Bit About Me…

A volunteer writes:
Meet sweet Sophie, an elegant senior who carries herself like royalty and almost seems to be some fairytale creature come to life–a greyhound-deer hybrid perhaps? She commands all the gentle grace of 11 years of family living and seems super spry and healthy for her age, walking nicely on the street, taking care of business and the stairs too and even going for a jog with a little encouragement from yours truly. Understandably confused over losing the only family she’s ever known and missing the comfort of having her little dog companion by her side, Sophie’s still feeling shy but trying hard to be brave and after a little coaxing she’s quite happy to follow my lead and trot out the door. In the yard she’s keen to explore on her own but still appreciates soft, slow head petting and my baby talk earns a few tiny tail wags too. Sophie’s big, loyal heart wants nothing more than to love and be loved in return and in an affectionate, adult-only family I bet she’ll come out of her shell and back into her own in no time. Add some senior love to your life and a touch of classic elegance to your couch by welcoming Queen Sophie home today.

For more information on adopting from the NYC AC&C, or to find a rescue to assist, please read the following: http://urgentpodr.org/adoption-info-and-list-of-rescues.

If you are local to the Tri-State, New England, and the general Northeast United States area, and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please read our MUST READ section for instructions, or email helpdogs@urgentpodr.org. Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process.

* We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.*
