I am a neutered male black finnish spitz and pomeranian mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 05/23/2016 from OUT OF NYC, owner surrender reason stated was MOVE2PRIVA.

05/23/16 17:14 Basic Sombra is a 5 year old Male neutured Chow Chow mixed with a german spitz. His owner has had him for over 2 years and got him for a shelter in Baltimore. Sombra was surrend because her owner recently moved and the build she lives in now does not allow pets. His owner states that he had no previous health issues and had recently been to the vet this year. Socialization Sombra’s owner stated that he is friendly and outgoing but can be shy for a few before warming up to a stranger. His owner said that he had barked and lunged at a man before that had a hoodie on. He has been a in home with childern ranging from 9months old to 4years old. He doesn’t like his ears pulled or tails pull and would growl and run away if someone did that. He plays gentle with adults and children. He had been around other dogs and prefers small dogs instead of big dogs. When playing with other dog he loves to bounce around would be the submissive one when playing.Sombra tolerants cats and is respectful towards them. His owner states that he has never bitten anyone or animal before. Behavior Sombra is calm when staying home alone and is house trained. When touching or taking his food bowl, water bowl, and toys he is not bothered by it . When taking his bone or treats away from him he would bark, growl, and snaps.When being held, disturbed, bathed, brushed, or gotten his nails trimmed he is not bothered. When a guest he doesn’t know enter the house he would bark but would just walk away afterwards. For a New Family to Know His owner described hi as friendly, affectionate, playful and shy. His owner stated that it depend on the situation on how Sombra can be. Sombra loves being outside and loves playing in the snow. Sombra doesn’t like to sleep on his own bed but loved sleeing with his owner or underneath his owner’s bed. He has never had accident at home and would go potty on grass or a tree. His previous owner has used a crate before with him but he doesn’t like being in the crate. He know some commands like sit, come, stay, and up. He only eat dry and the brand that he is used to is the rachael ray dog food. Intake During intake he was hiding underneath the owner and allowed her owner to collar him. When trying to scan him he would try to avoid the scanner. When trying to take his picture his body was very tense. He attempted to bite when trying to get a photo and peting him.

Sombra came into our center as an owner surrender citing landlord issues. It is reported he has been in a home with children ranging in age from 9 months to 4 years old, does not like his ears or tail pulled and will growl/run away. Owner reports he has been around other dogs, prefers small sized dogs instead of larger dogs. Sombra is reportedly tolerant and respectful towards cats. Owner reports Sombra isn’t bothered if anyone takes his Food or Toys away, but will growl and snap if anyone touches his bone or treats. Owner states Sombra is housebroken to go outside, is well behaved when alone in the home. Owner describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, and shy. Sombra was tense upon intake, underneath owner’s chair. Sombra snapped at admissions counselor during intake photo and tried to bite during his initial medical exam. Sombra is nervous inside kennel, ducks the rope and thrashes when attempting to leash. Once leashed and collared he calms significantly out on a walk. Sombra allows petting but may flinch if handler moves too quickly. He allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, lip lick. Sombra stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, lip lick. He initially followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, but head flipped and tried to bite on pass, therefore remaining tactile portions of the assessment were skipped. Sombra showed no interest in Toy. When off leash with other dogs, Sombra is nervous and remains in one spot, does not approach. Sombra must be placed with a New Hope partner. He would do best in a calm, quiet, structured environment so he can relax and know what to expect. Sombra would do best in a home without children. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted, lip lick, his tail is low and not moving. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, mouth closed, lip long, ears back, lip lick. Tag: 5. Dog initially follows, head flips and tries to bite on pass. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Sombra is nervous and remains in one spot, does not approach.
