A volunteer writes: Are you ready to have some fun? Our little pocket pittie is ready to join you! Bouncy, friendly, lively, tail waggy with a smile a mile wide, Miss Soba has already won the hearts of staff and volunteers who’ve met her. Just try to get out of the building without calls of, “Hey Soba, Love You!” Excited to be out for a walk to go potty, she’s bouncy on leash in her joy, bows to everyone we meet, joined me on the bench for some kisses, and enjoyed a hug from staff who picked her up like a baby. There are no strangers in Soba’s world, everyone is a friend and that includes her fellow canines, males and females, with whom she enjoys exuberant play. Adorably, playfully and affectionately delicious, she’s ready to light up your world.

DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT:
Summary
PLAYGROUP:
7/1: When introduced off leash, Soba greets politely and engages in bouts of play with both male and female dogs.
7/3: Soba engages in exuberant running play with male and female dogs.
INTAKE BEHAVIOR:
Upon intake, Soba allowed all handling.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 6/30/17
During her initial medical exam, Soba was active and allowed handling.
ENERGY LEVEL:
We have no history on Soba so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, she is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep her engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct her energy and enthusiasm.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)
For more information on adopting from the NYC AC&C, or to find a rescue to assist, please read the following: http://urgentpodr.org/adoption-info-and-list-of-rescues. If you are local to the Tri-State, New England, and the general Northeast United States area, and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please read our MUST READ section for instructions, or email [email protected]. Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process. * We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.* For more info on behavior codes and ratings, please click here: http://information.urgentpodr.org/acc-placement-status-descriptions.
