06/11/16 15:06 Snow is a three year old white American Pitbull/Dalmation mix. She was surrendered by her owner due to owner moving out of state and moving into a facility that does not accept Pitbulls. She was with her owner since she was a puppy and was a gift from a neighbor. She is described as affectionate, friendly, and quirky. Snow is described as friendly and engages exuberant play. Owner stated she will jump on people when she first meets them. She has spent time with children ages three and four. She is described as tolerant around the children and will allow them to pull her tail and ears. Owner stated she can engage in somewhat rough play with the children due to her size and can knock them over. She has spent time with all types of dogs, she was taken to dog parks. She was described as playful and realxed and will engage in exuberant play. She lived with a cat in the home and is described as respectful and tolerant. Snow is not bothered when her food is touched while eating or when a a treat or toy is taken away. She is not bothered when given a bath and is fearful when her nails are trimmed. She likes to be brushed. She will bark when a stranger approaches her home or yard and will relax once they enter the home. Snow’s activity level is described as medium she lieks to play with squeaky toys and ropes in the home. She has been kept indoors and is housetrained. She is walked three times a day and is used to leashed walks. She eats dry food Wellness brand and her favorite treat is chicken. She knows the commands sit, you must click tounge twice and she will sit. She also knows down, come and give paw. She will go to the dog park and owner stated he was used to off leash trips to the park. Upon intake Snow was relaxed and allowed all handling. She was scanned (negative), collared and photographed.

Snow previously lived with adults and children ages three and four. The owner described Snow as tolerant around the children and will allow them to pull her tail and ears. Snow will engage in somewhat rough play with the children at times knocking them down due to her size, she also lived in a home with a cat and displayed respectful and tolerant behavior towards the cat. The owner mentioned Snow’s activity level is described as medium. Upon intake it was reported Snow was relaxed and allowed all handling. During SAFER Snow came into the assessment room loose and friendly, She was social towards the assessor. She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Snow was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Snow was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Snow appears to be sociable, and did not display any behavior concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Dog-Dog: Snow engages in gentle chase play in a group of males and females.

According to Snow’s previous owner, Snow has spent time with all types of dogs as she was taken to dog parks. She was described as playful and relaxed and will engage in exuberant play. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Snow engages in gentle play with males and females. She will appropriately correct mouthy play and loves to swim in the doggie pool. 6/12: Snow engages in high energy play. She is tolerant of mouthy play and takes appropriate breaks. She loves to swim in the doggie pool. 6/13: Snow engages in play with males and females. She will correct excessively mouthy play and may become frustrated when play is not reciprocated. 6/14-6/15: Snow engages in gentle chase play in a group of males and females.
