Mucoid ocular discharge with neovascularization across the cornea, OU; ears have moderate black exudate, AU. no nasal discharge ; Oral Exam: dc 5/5; pd 3/5 ; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: No murmur ausculted; CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: neutered male.  MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat; CNS: Mentation slightly depressed; CP defecits in the L PL ; Rectal: grossly normal.  Assessment; geriatric; dental disease, severe ; KCS , OU ; cataracts, OU ; otitis externa ; underweight ; mild paresis of L PL ; Prognosis: fair ; Plan: Spot BG — 93 — WNL ; CBC / chemistry ; LRS Fluids SQ 200ml ; monitor appetite, offer wet foods ; monitor hydration ; ear cleaning and gentizol administration ; schirmer tear test — OS: 10; OD: 0 (zero); optimmune q12h ; SURGERY: already neutered

Look:  1. Dog’s eyes are averted, ears are back, tail is down, relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity:  1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag:  1. Dog stands with tail low and wagging, and comes toward the Assessor in a friendly manner when the Assessor ceases moving.
Paw squeeze 1:  2. Dog quickly pulls back.

Toy:  1. No interest.
