I am a male tan and white pomeranian mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 08/26/2016 from NY 11208, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

08/30/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Behavior upon intake Smokey was relaxed and friendly. Smokey came into the shelter on, and 8/26/16 as a stray his past behaviors in a homer are unknown. During SAFER Smokey was relaxed he had a loose body posture when interacting with the assessor, . Smokey allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Smokey was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment. Smokey was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Smokey appears to be sociable, and did not display any behavior concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, and open mouth. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, and a bit distracted. Squeeze 1/2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1: No interest. Playgroup:When off leash at the Care Center, Smokey greets other male and female dogs politely and is tolerant of their solicitations. Otherwise, he mostly keeps to himself and explores the yard.

Smokey was brought in as a stray so his past behavior around other dogs is unknown. 8/29-9/2: When off leash at the Care Center, Smokey greets other male and female dogs politely and is tolerant of their solicitations. Otherwise, he mostly keeps to himself and explores the yard. He appropriately corrects another dog when mounted.

Prognosis excellent.
