02/03/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
02/03/16 Skyler is a 3 year old female APBT mix. Her family got her from a breeder when she was 7 weeks old. They had to surrender her because they’re moving to a home that doesn’t allow large dogs. Skyler is friendly/outgoing with new people. She lived with 2 children ages 6-14 and was relaxed, playful, and tolerant with them. She plays exuberantly with adults and children. Skyler is relaxed, playful, tolerant, and plays exuberantly with small dogs. She initiates play with them. She’s respectful of other larger dogs and is relaxed while she walks past them. She lived with a cat and was relaxed and playful with her, often approaching her and sniffing her, attempting to initiate play. The cat would scratch her in the face (broken skin in the past, but not within 10 days). She would continue sniffing the cat, still relaxed, until the cat left. She’s never bit/scratched anyone. Skyler doesn’t mind storms. She is friendly with new people who approach her home/family. She doesn’t mind when someone takes her food/treat/toy, moves her off furniture, holds/restrains her, wakes her up, bathes her, or brushes her. Skyler’s family describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, excitable, smart, obedient, and high energy. She followed her family everywhere. She plays with balls, stuffed toys, squeaky toys, and rope toys. She plays chase and tug. She lived inside and slept with her owner or on a dog bed. She ate dry Pedigree dog food and got peanut butter as a treat. Skyler is housetrained, doesn’t have accidents, and potties outside and grass and dirt. She’s well-behaved while left alone. She sits and gives paw when asked. She knows these words: kisses, outside, cookies, and toys. She wants to please her family and is very happy when they tell her “good girl.” She went for brisk walks and pulls on her leash. Skyler approached me with a soft, slightly low body and wagging tail. She stood up, leaned into my lap, and licked my face. She maintained this while I pet her, scanned her (-), collared her, and positioned her for pictures. She sat when asked and caught treats. Only while her owner was crying, she growled when I reached towards her owner. She sometimes barked (growly) when new people entered the other side of the room. She walked nicely with me. While I worked, she lied on the floor next to me.

02/06/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Skyler is uncomfortable in the care center, growling in her kennel and allowing minimal handling; for these reasons she has not yet been introduced to other dogs off leash. Her owner reports that around small dogs she is “relaxed, playful, tolerant, and plays exuberantly.” She also initiates play with them. Her owner also reports that on leash she’s “respectful of other larger dogs and is relaxed while she walks past them.” The behavior department recommends allowing Skyler time to acclimate to her new surroundings before introducing her to any resident dogs.
