06/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Simba walks calmly on leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Simba was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He was no interested in toys. Simba did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that he can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. No interest. Playgroup Notes: When off leash with other dogs Simba greets politely and will jog along side the helper dog but does not engage in play.

06/24/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs Simba greets politely and will jog along side the helper dog but does not engage in play. He arrived to the care center with a female housemate (who is also polite with other dogs), but no information was given about their behaviors in-home. Based on observations made in the care center, the behavior department recommends a pre-adoption interaction to ensure compatability with any resident dogs.
