02/18/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper: 1061825 Shrimpy came to us as a stray; so we do not have any behavior information available other than what has been observed while at the shelter. Shrimpy seems to have difficulty walking when directed towards the behavior room. He was very interested in exploring the environment once in the room, and did not show much interest in interacting with the assessor. Shrimpy was a bit uncomfortable having stiff body language during some of the handling items, but did not display any signs of aggression. Not all tactile items were completed due to Shrimpy’s medical condition. He showed no interested in the toy on this portion of the assessment. When on an on-leash dog interaction Shrimpy approaches the helper dog slowly with relaxed body language. He behavior department believes that Shrimpy would do best in a home with an experienced adopter with no young children. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. His body posture is stiff and fearful; his tail is low and not moving. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears back, may lip lick. Flank squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, lip long.
