09/18/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/18/16 12:52 Basic Info: Shiny A1090233 is a 15/16yr old spayed female gray Shih Tzu who was given to the owner as a gift from a family member at a month old and is being surrendered due to child conflict and her age. Shiny was last seen by a veterinarian several years ago and currently has some hair loss also perhaps due to her age her bladder is weakened. Socialization: Around strangers Shiny is friendly/outgoing at times. She’s spent time with children ages 3-8yr and used to be gentle, exuberant & playful with them but since getting older she growls, snaps & runs/hides from them. She also behaves this way at times with the adults in the home. Shiny hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Shiny has accidents around the home at times, the owner thinks it’s due to her being older. She isn’t bothered by the following: having her food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved, being moved off of furniture, being held/restrained or if someone unfamiliar approaches the home/family member. Shiny hasn’t been disturbed while sleeping/resting or had her nails trimmed. She hasn’t been groomed due to the owner stating Shiny doesn’t let her. For A New Family To Know: Shiny is described as friendly (sometimes), affectionate (sometimes), playful (sometimes) & mellow with a low activity level. She enjoys resting. When the owner is home Shiny follows them around sometimes. She enjoyed ball, squeaky & stuffed toys (not so much anymore). Shiny is a mostly indoor only dog who’s walked 2-3x a day. When walked she doesn’t pull on her leash and she sleeps on a dog bed. Shiny eats wet dog food (any brand) 2-3x a day and knows “sit” & “stop”. Intake Behavior: Shiny allowed minimal handling. She allowed to be scanned (-), collared (while wrapped in linen) & taken pictures of. Shiny was then picked up/carried and placed into a kennel with ease. She will attempt to bite if you touch or have your hand near her face.
