05/31/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Why hello, you gorgeous dog!!! Shady joins us as his family, which included teenage children, no longer have time for him. We’re told he’s relaxed and playful with both his own people and with strangers, doesn’t guard his stuff, practices good grooming by enjoying being brushed and bathed, loves to play fetch, and is very housetrained. Indeed, Shady peed enough to raise the Hudson River by 5 inches once we were outside, and he stayed in the one spot for so long it gave me the chance to admire his deep chocolate brown coat accented in bronze. Gorgeous!! Shady is gentle and calm and ignores other dogs we pass, even the harshly barking dog kenneled next to him. Shady is doing his best to adjust to his new world: no people he knows; no routine he’s used to. And he’s doing a great job. I promised him a new family to love, so won’t you help me make my promise to him come true? He’s a gentle giant, a proven family dog looking for a new family.
