MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT
10/16/2016 Exam Type BEHAVIORPART2 – Medical Rating is 3 NC – MAJOR CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, Behavior Rating is NH ONLY, Weight 25.3 LBS.
RECOMMENDATIONS: New Hope Only _X_No children (under 13) (See potential challenges) _X_Place with a New Hope partner (See known history/bite history; Shadow has attempted to snap multiple times during his stay at our care centers, for this reason along with known history, we believe Shadow would benefit best from placement with a New Hope rescue group who can further assess this behavior in a stable environment.) Potential challenges: _X_House soiling (See known history; Shadow may benefit best from routine walks, scheduled feedings as well as incorporating a crate to aid in a housebreaking process.) _X_Mouthiness/Poor bite inhibition (Decreasing the force of the mouth as well as the frequency of mouthing, in this order is recommended by using force-free, reward based training as well to reinforce a soft appropriate mouth and redirect hard inappropriate mouthing onto toys.) _X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression (Shadow has displayed fearful/defensive behavior during his stay at our care centers, tolerating very minimal handling; any form of direct touch may result in a fearful bite. It is recommended that Shadow be allowed a proper time to decompress to aid in acclimating him to a new environment. Force-free, reward based training is advised when introducing/exposing Shadow to new and unfamiliar situations.)
10/14/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO

He does not destroy household itmes. He does not mind having his food or toys touched or taken while eating. He will not eat without owner near. He will growl and bite if someone tries to touch or take his bone. He is afraid of being bathed and will run or struggle. He does not mind being brushed but he does not like his legs, feet or testicles touched. He is fearful of the sound or sight of razor blades, clippers and scissors and may try to bite if approached with those objects. He is not bothered by having people approaching his house. Shadow has a very high level of energy at home. He follows his owners around the house and he chews up doggy beds. He really loves balls and tennis balls. He was once crate trained but has not worked recently. He knows the command sit and paw. He pulls very hard on the leash. He is fed gourmet cookable dog food with sweet potato. He does not eat any flavors of wet/dry dog food unless it is chicken, salmon or sweet potato. Shadow growled at councilor when trying to scan for a microchip.
