04/22/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/22/16 13:06hrs Seven has been cared for by his family for the past 8 years since he was 2 months old. He lived in a home with children aged 2 to 6 years old. Seven is affectionate with the children, allowing them to touch him all over. He lived with a golden retriever for some time and was tolerant of him. Seven would spend more time with the family then the other dog. When Seven notices other dogs outside, he will growl, bark and pull towards them. His owner noted that he has played in dog parks in the past and was tolerant of the other dogs approaching him and coaxing him to play however when another dog behaved aggressively towards him, he will react in the same manner. BEHAVIOR Seven will follow his family around the home during the day. Seven will allow his owner to approach him while he is eating and remove his bowl. However he will growl if someone attempts to remove treats or his toy from his mouth. He responds when told to get off furniture. His owner bathes him once a month but he doesn’t enjoy it. He will growl, nip and attempt to run off, but he never bit anyone in the home. When Seven is left alone, he is allowed to roam free and is well behaved. When there are visitors in the home, he will approach them and sniff them and allow them to pet him. His owner noted that he may growl if someone unfamiliar approaches his owner while walking outside. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW He responds to the commands” 2+ sit down, and 4=get down.” He likes to chew on raw hide bones and plays fetch. He is housetrained and walked 3x a day. He is always walked on leash and will pull. Seven is accustomed to eating Dog Chow or Pedigree dry dog food mixed with table food. He sleeps in bed with his owner at night.
04/25/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Seven’s soft smile reflects the wit and wisdom that only 8 years of happy family life can bring, and as our resident chunky monkey (70 roly poly pounds of good-natured fun!) he’s a popular choice when it comes to snuggle time at the Care Center. Having lived with his previous family since he was just a tiny two-month-old, Seven is used to being surrounded by beloved people, familiar routines and the comforts of a real home, so he’s understandably feeling a bit lost at the moment. In his old life, he had little human siblings to play with, and was nothing but gentle, affectionate and tolerant when their curious hands wandered over his body. He’s lived in harmony with a four-legged big dog brother too. Though he’s more of a ‘people dog’, Seven is tail-waggingly happy to see other pups in the yard and totally chill when tethered near them as I clean his kennel. While he’s said to enjoy play time at the dog park, Seven isn’t one to stand down if someone threatens him, so when it comes to his adoptive family, only the friendliest fur siblings need apply! As the self-appointed guardian of his pack, this loyal friend could be protective at times, but it certainly hasn’t stopped him making pals with everyone he’s met since his arrival, appreciating all our petting and even showing off his sit when offered a treat. To see Seven waddle-run down the street is to witness firsthand the puppy-like joy that beats strongly in this sprightly senior’s heart, and he’s clearly got a lifetime of love still to share with the lucky adopter that takes him home. For a pet used to sleeping in his owner’s bed and eating from the family table, a solo kennel and a bowl of healthy kibble is a long way to fall, but Seven’s trying to make the best of things, and he’s going to ‘fake it ’til he makes it’ out of the Care Center and into the loving arms of his new forever family. Why settle for a 5-star pet when you could go two better? Ask for Seven today, he’s already neutered and ready to go go go!
04/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Seven walks calmly on leash. he was a bit shy when he meets the assessor but during the handling Seven was calm and relaxed. The behavior team decided not to do the sensitivity and tag test due to his medical condition. During the resources seven was not interested in toys. Seven was surrender to us. According to his previous owner He lived in a home with children aged 2 to 6 years old. Seven is affectionate with the children, allowing them to touch him all over. He lived with a golden retriever for some time and was tolerant of him. Seven would spend more time with the family then the other dog. When Seven notices other dogs outside, he will growl, bark and pull towards them. Seven will allow his owner to approach him while he is eating and remove his bowl. However he will growl if someone attempts to remove treats or his toy from his mouth”. Seven did not show any concern during the behavior assessment but because of his owner surrender profile the behavior department feels that Seven may do best with an experienced no children adopter who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Toy 1: No interest.
