His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game, indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, jumps lightly on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1 / 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed Toy 1: 1. Dog playfully engages, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Summary: Seinfeld displayed no behavior concerns during his handling assessment. INTAKE BEHAVIOR Date of intake 7/26/2017 During intake, Seinfeld allowed all handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Date of initial 7/26/2017 During his initial medical exam, Seinfeld allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Seinfeld so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. In the care center, Seinfeld displays a high level of energy. He would benefit from daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend food puzzles as well as daily walks, runs, exercise, and play to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm. RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience) Potential challenges: _X_Strength/leash pulling – During walks, Seinfeld pulls hard on leash. His adopter must be prepared and able to handle a dog of this size and strength. It is recommended that he be walked on a front clip harness or head halter, which helps diminish his strength through leverage, and that he be trained using positive reinforcement, reward based training to not pull on leash.
