06/17/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
06/17/16 13:11 Scuttle and Toto were found in their apartment after their owner passed away 3 days ago. The super asked a neighbor to bring them to ACC. The neighbor reports that the owner was elderly and rarely took them outside of the apartment. She reports that they were friendly with her and walked well on a leash. She fed them dry food. Scuttle is very matted. Scuttle had a soft body while I pet him, scanned him (-), collared him, and positioned him for pictures. He wagged his tail while I talked to and pet him. He stood up and leaned into my lap.
06/20/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Such a silly name for a cute wee fellow who doesn’t scuttle so much as toddle through life, Scuttle is definitely a dog to remember–especially since his dramatic ‘makeover’ from matted mess to handsome honey! He and his lil’ bro Toto (A1077830) were recently orphaned when their owner died and while bouncy Toto’s taking it all in stride, Scuttle’s a shyer, quieter dog who’s really feeling the loss. A bit hesitant coming to the front of his den for snuggles but easy to pick up and keen to go for a walk, he’s not one to make a fuss and quickly goes about taking care of his ‘business’ then trotting obediently by my side, looking up every so often as though checking on my progress with his wise owl eyes. When we stop for a rest I gently pet his back and he closes them at last, relaxing for a moment and perhaps forgetting his troubles in the simple pleasure of receiving comfort from a human hand. Other dogs large and small are passed in the street with ease and when he’s reunited with Toto it’s happy tail wags all round, though Scuttle politely makes sure to share some love with a Beagle neighbor too. An affectionate, well-behaved gentleman longing for the security that only a real home can provide, Scuttle is going to make his new family so very happy. Ask to meet him today and discover Scuttle’s soulful sweetness for yourself.
