01/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Scrappy was surrendered by his owner. Limited information was provided at intake, but a bite history and aggressive behaviors toward strangers, children, and sometimes the owner were reported. Scrappy walks calmly on leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Scrappy followed the assessor during the tag interaction with a calm and relaxed body language. He was not interested in toys. Scrappy did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. However, due to his reported history we recommend experienced adopters who will provide any necessary behavior modification as well as keep Scrappy and those around him safe and comfortable. We also recommend an adult-only home. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, wagging tail, open mouth. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. No interest. When off leash with other dogs, Scrappy mostly keeps to himself. He offers correction to a dog who is forward in greeting. He displays what is likely sexually motivated behavior when trying to mount a female dog in the pen.
