11/01/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Is that a deer I see? Is it a wolf? Is it a bear? No, it’s Scoogie– who has somehow managed to come out looking like a combination of all three!!! And there’s probably a bit of dog in there somewhere, too. 🙂 Sweet Scoogie lived with his owner for his entire life, and was brought into the shelter by a family member when his owner was hospitalized. Not surprisingly, Scoogie doesn’t seem to be loving shelter life and spends most of his days sleeping in his cage. But when I show up and put a leash on him, Scoogie gets a pep in his step and is happy to get outside and swing his tail. Scoogie seems to be housebroken and does fine with other dogs (although we get the impression he could take them or leave them), and walks perfectly well on a leash. Scoogie does seem a bit shy or nervous at first and can sometimes be surprised by sudden movements or loud noises, and for this reason we think he would do best in a home with experienced adopters and no children. Scoogie is a calm, initially timid and then very sweet pup who really just needs a relaxing environment to live out his final years in. Please come and see him today at the Brooklyn ACC!
