My name is SCOOBY. My Animal ID # is A1103512.
I am a neutered male brown pit bull mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 02/11/2017 from NY 11433, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

02/21/17 Nasal discharge noted on rounds. O: BARH. mm=pink, moist, CRT<2 s. EENT: Mild serous nasal discharge. H/L: Lungs clear. Slight cough. A: CIRDC. P: Move to iso. Rx Doxycycline 100 mg. 3 Po q 24 hours x 10 days. Excellent prognosis.

02/11/17 18:37 Upon intake Scooby was very calm and relaxed. He approached the counselor with soft body, and allowed the petting all over. He allowed the counselor to collar and take a photo with no issue.

KNOWN HISTORY: 2/11/17 Intact Male, Stray Other notes: Upon intake Scooby was calm and relaxed, he allowed all handling. SAFER ASSESSMENT: Date of assessment Look:1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag:1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1&2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1.No interest. Summary: Scooby was very friendly and affectionate towards the assessor, he showed no concerns. PLAYGROUP: Scooby came into the Care Center as a stray so his previous behavior around other dogs is unknown. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Scooby is sexually motivated with a novel female and attempts to mount. He persists despite handler interruptions. Scooby displays soft body language when greeting a male dog. He mostly keeps to himself as he explores the pen, tolerating the other dog’s attempt to mount him. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 2/12/17 During his medical intake, Scooby was friendly and allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)

Scooby came into the Care Center as a stray so his previous behavior around other dogs is unknown. 2/12: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Scooby is sexually motivated with a novel female and attempts to mount. He persists despite handler interruptions. 2/14: Scooby displays soft body language when greeting a male dog. He mostly keeps to himself as he explores the pen, tolerating the other dog’s attempt to mount him. 2/15: In a group of playful male and female dogs, Scooby initially displays soft and bouncy body language. When a larger intact male enters the group, Scooby initially persistently sniffs his genital reign, even after handlers interrupt. He then begins biting at the large male’s neck and they are separated by the handlers.

Medical rating was 2 NC – MINOR CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, behavior rating was NONE
scan negative s: bright and alert very friendly, like to lean on handlers and be petted did not object to being touched, lifted, or led o: left upper canine appears to be historically fractured lower dental arcade also suggests fracture small older abrasion on back 5 cm oval, no bleeding, scarred in, hair did not grow over some thickening of skin on plantar surface of distal hindlimbs ears, eyes, nose clean ambulatory underweight bcs 3/9 male intact a: possibly kept in kennel? hind limb skin changes and broken teeth suggest injury secondary to confinement no apparent illness or injury of concern, generally healthy looking adult animal slightly underweight but searching for food in exam room, possibly not fed adequate ration p: monitor on rounds very sweet dog, appopriate for adoptions
