Sassy is resting peacefully in her spotless and orderly kennel. I talk to her softly and slide the leash around her neck. She opens wider her huge non seeing eyes. Her whole face seems to ask:”what’s happening ?” I caress her head and Sassy comes slowly out of her den.She does not mind me putting a flower garland around her neck for pictures. She walks quite well, guided by the tension of the rope, my voice, may be her sense of smell and hearing…She is a tiny bit scared, keeping her tail close to her body. She voids right away….a huge lake… Our little Sassy could be house trained… She was a house dog most likely just yesterday before to find herself in the street. She is spayed, friendly, not too wary, trusting, well groomed, a bit thin, wears large calluses and long nails but looks like she did have a family until her luck ran out…..or ..not….. Thinking about it….May be this is Sassy’s chance to start fresh, a new page in her life with a caring and loving new owner fond of and savvy in pets with a disability ? That’s indeed whom pretty Sassy needs and dreams of… Come and meet our lovely dame here at the Manhattan Care Center. She is waiting patiently for you.
