MEDICAL: RECHECK: Left forelimb hairless thickened nonpainful scar (3cm x 1.5cm) over carpus, possible healed acral lick granulama or old wound. Temperature normal. No treatment required. Patient has urine in haircoat with discharge from vulva.
PROFILE: Sassy is a tan and white ten year old pomeranian. She was surrendered by her owner due to owner no longer being able to care for her. She has been with owner since she was a puppy.
Sassy is described as friendly and outgoing with strangers. She haslived win a home with four adults in the home. Owner had a children of all ages in the home and is described as fearful and will stay hidden. She has lived with another small breed dog. She is described as relaxed and playful with the other dog in the home. She has never been around cats.
Sassy will urinate and defecate indoors a few times a week. She is not bothered when her food is touched or when a treat or toy is taken away. She is fearful when bathed and will try to struggle. She will bark and retreat when her nails are trimmed. She will bark when a stranger approaches her home and will relax once the visitor enters.
Sassy’ activity level is described as low and when her owner is home she will stay in her favorite spot. She has been kept only indoors and used pee pads in the home. She eats Purina dry food and is fed twice a day.
Upon intake Sassy was calm and allowed all handling. Counselor was able to collar, scan (negative) and photograph.
PLAYGROUP: According to Sassy’s previous owner, Sassy has lived with another small breed dog. She is described as relaxed and playful with the other dog in the home. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Sassy greets appropriately and sits under the bench in the pen.
