05/28/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sassy came to us as an owner surrender due to the owner’s current housing situation. According to the owner Sassy has lived with an 8 and 12 year old and was very playful and affectionate with them. Around strangers Sassy was said to bark and sometimes attempt to lunge at them. Sassy also lived with another dog in the home with whom she got along well with. Though around other dogs she passes on the street she is said to growl and lunge at them. Sassy walked calmly on the leash when going to the behavior room. She seemed a bit uncomfortable and unsteady when standing though which can be attributed to her medical condition. When attempting to conduct the look item Sassy growled at the assessor. Due to this behavior the rest of the handling items were not conducted. She showed no interested in toy on this portion of the assessment. We recommend Sassy be placed with a New Hope partner that can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment. Toy 1. No interest When off leash with other dogs Sassy offers a few sniffs before going off to explore the yard.
