09/18/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/18/16 15:53 Basic Information: Sasha is a brown and white brindle american pitbull terrier. She is approximately one year and four months. She had lived with her previous owner for one year. She is very playful, and high energy which resulted in his kids becoming fearful of her. Thusly the owner felt this was the only option. Socialization: Sasha had spent time around the owner’s two kids ages two and three. She is very playful around kids but has a tendency to jump on them. She has not spent time around other dogs,(aside from seeing them on daily walks) cats so her behavior around them remains unknown. Behavior: When her owner approaches her food bowl she sits down, wags her tail and waits patiently for the food and water to be given. When she had been given a bath she would sit for a little bit but then would get excited and want to run around. For the most part Sasha had used the bathroom outside when she had gone on walks with her owner. Outside she gets very excited and stimulated and will pull very hard on the leash when she is taken for a walk. For a New Family to Know: Sasha is incredibly high energy and very playful which usually results in jumpy behavior. When left outside unsupervised she will jump over the fence and has gotten loose in her previous home a couple times. Additionally she is familiar with the sit, come and down commands, and had been spoken to in both English and Spanish. Behavior During Intake: During her evaluation Sasha was incredibly high energy. By her owner’s side she was relaxed and laying down on all fours. When the counselor approached she became excited and jumped on the counselor. She did not let the counselor collar her at first. She was given some time to calm down and then given some treats. After some time the counselor approached her again and was able to pet her, and collar her with the help of her owner. Throughout her evaluation Sasha would have bursts of energy followed by moments when she wold lay down. When she was being photographed she was very jumpy and wiggly. She was given a toy which she immediately started playing with.
09/23/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: 1 year-old Sasha may not be “Fierce” but she is as charismatic and commanding of attention as her namesake’s alter ego. This beautiful “Queen B” is stunning in her light brindled coat and freckly nose, and at 74 lbs, there is much of her to love. Sasha is also a social butterfly eager to interact with anyone and everyone that crosses her path. She is a young babe, brand new to this world, and everything is an opportunity for fun and adventure. On a recent walk Sasha did pull quite a bit but our diva just needs a quick refresher on her manners. She appears to be housebroken and once she’d fully explored every nook and cranny of our yard, plopped down and rolled over for a good rub and a pet. Sasha was surrendered to our care and is said to have been playful, excited, and occasionally jumpy with her former family. Well she is all of those things, yes. But she is also a gorgeous piece of clay, fresh-faced and hopeful, and more than ready to be molded into a lovely, mature girl. Sweet as “Lemonade,” Sasha is ready to “Run the World” and be someone’s new, “Irreplaceable” best friend. Ready to fall “Crazy in Love?” Then come meet Sasha today. Sasha is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan’s ACC.
