07/01/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/01/16 13:13 Behavior during intake: This dog was clearly nervous when she got to MACC. She was hiding between the owner’s legs and under his chair. When she saw other dogs in the lobby she tried to lunge at them and she would bark. She sat well for a photo outside of the shelter. I had the owner collar her. Basic information: Sasha was surrendered to MACC by her former owner due to a changing living situation for the owners. The former owner is unsure of the last time Sasha was seen by a vet. Socialization: Sasha does not do well with new people. She has been known to be aggresive and try to bite strangers. She has never been around children. She does not play with kids or adults. She has never been around any other dogs or cats. She has never bitten a person or animal. Behavior history: Sasha does not like when her food bowl is touched while she is eating. Her former owner was not able to answer any other questions about her behavior. For a new family to know: She is best described as exitable. She is a very active dog. When her owner is home she likes to stay in a favoritr spot. She loves to play with balls and other rope toys. She has been kept primarliy outdoors. Sasha eats dry food only. She seems to perfer to go on the grass for the bathroom. She is well behavied when left alone at home. She can sit on command.
07/02/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: The white-face club…a life lived…experiences, relationships, people loved. If Sasha could talk, oh the stories she could tell. Surrendered by her family due to a change in living circumstances, we’re told she doesn’t do well around new people, has never been with a dog or a cat (although in her first group she allowed the female greeter to approach without issue), and doesn’t like to share her stuff. I’m not a good sharer either, and the older I get the less I like to share my things — so I get you, Miss Sasha. We’re also told she’s well behaved when left home alone, can sit when asked and is generally an active girl. Sasha was quietly lying in her kennel when I came for her, happy to get up, be leashed and be outside to go potty. Other than being a mom many times over she’s been beautifully taken care of, her cocoa coat clean and groomed, her weight good, her ears clean and her eyes are bright, clear and intelligent. She looks around for her person as we walk; her leash manners are lovely. Sasha sits when she sees a treat in my hand — I didn’t even need to ask! Calm, low key and gentle, Miss Sasha is ready to spend her golden years in the warmth of a family. Can it be yours?
