A volunteer writes: From the moment she stepped out of her kennel I knew I’d fall in love. She’s tiny in her pristine white coat, her freckled nose and caramel accents adding a lively touch. Surrendered by the only family she’s ever known due to cost, we’re told she’s “super friendly and sweet to all”, enjoys a bath and brushing, lived with two children, plays gently with everyone, ignored the cat she lived with, lived well with another dog, loves to play tug, knows ‘sit’, ‘come’ and ‘stay’ in both English and Spanish, is well behaved when left home alone, and needs to work on her housetraining skills. She’s perfect on the leash and is so cute that the hardest of hearts has to melt when spending time with her. She showed off her sit, took a treat gently, posed for pictures like she’s been a model all her life, and gave me a terrific stand up hug. Off leash in a pen she explores, trying to get up on the bench with me, but her little legs are too short. She gave me delicious kisses, and always softly wags her tail. As of this writing Sasha hasn’t been in a play group, but as other dogs came over to say hello to her she wagged her tail gently, and her posture was soft and welcoming. It’s no surprise that this cutie aced her behavior assessment with the highest recommendation given. She’s adorable, friendly, tiny, affectionate, and sweetly playful. If you’re ready to help her with her housetraining skills with positive reinforcement training, you’re the person she’s waiting for. Ask to meet Sasha today.
From Sasha’s Foster: Sasha is the perfect companion. She is sweet, very affectionate and loves being around people. She will follow you from room to room and lay with you on the couch or on the floor at your feet. She absolutely loves attention and will nuzzle up to you and turn over putting her paw on your arm until you rub her belly or caress her face. She doesn’t seem to be interested in chewing things around the house except her “pig ear” treats or bones bought from the pet store. Sasha still needs some work in the house-training department. For the most part, she will hold it in and wait until she is outside, but she does occasionaly go in the house even after she has been walked and went outside. Sasha loves to play. She will chase a ball and bring it back to you or play tug-of-war with a rope. When you come home, she never barks or gets overly excited. She’ll just be waiting by the door and strat frantically waving her tail when you come in. When you grab her collar or harness, she’ll come to you and sit without being told to while dancing on her front paws waiting for you to put it on her. She is a big baby and such a mush. This is the dog for you if you want one that isn’t very hyper or excited and just loves to lounge around with you.
