History : surrendered by O; unable to take P and housemate Chloe 25277 into new home; Subjective / Observed Behavior – BAR, allowed all handling. stiff body and slight shaking throughout exam. Whale-eyed. Objective; BCS 5/9; EENT: Eyes clear, no nasal or ocular discharge noted; aural hematoma AD ~3/4 of the pinnae. moderate brown exudate AU; abnormal crinkles to pinna AS; Oral Exam: dc 2/5; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: 2/6 L systolic murmur; Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: intact female. no spay scar or tattoo. MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat; 1inch soft SQ mass along the mid ventral tail; CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Rectal: normal grossly. Assessment; dental disease; aural hematoma; otitis, chronic; heart murmur; skin mass, ventral tail. intact female.; senior; Prognosis: good. Plan: ear cleaning; claro otic; sx correction of hematoma once adopted / placed; cardiology consult once placed; SURGERY: Permanent waiver due to heart murmur and age.

Basic Information:Sasha is an 8 year old unaltered large breed dog that the owner got from a friend when Sasha was 4 months old. The owner is surrendering due to not being able to have her in her apartment. Sasha’s last vet visit was over a year ago for vaccines.

How is this dog around children? Sasha is relaxed and playful with children and she plays gently with them.
How is this dog around other dogs? Sasha is relaxed and playful with other dogs and she plays gently with them.

Resource guarding: Sasha is not bothered when her food bowl while she eats or if a treat or toy is taken from her.

Other Notes: Sasha is not bothered when she is taken off furniture, restrained, or disturbed while she sleeps. Sasha is fearful when she is bathed. The owner has never trimmed Sasha’s nails. Sasha barks when the doorbell rings.

For a New Family to Know: Sasha is described as friendly and affectionate. The owner’s favorite thing about Sasha is that she is a good dog and she is very attentive. Sasha’s favorite thing to do is play. When the owner is home, Sasha follows him around. Sasha likes to play with any toys. Sasha plays tug. Sasha is fed Pedigree wet and dry food, once a day. The owner mixes the wet and dry food together. When taken outside, Sasha uses any surface. Sasha knows how to sit on command. Sasha pulls very hard on a leash.
Behavior Notes: Upon intake, Sasha was wagging her tail and had a loose body. Sasha became a little stiff when her owner left but she allowed all handling.

Summary:Sasha approached the assessor with a soft body. She was social and calm during the assessment, allowed all handling, and displayed no concerning behaviors.
Summary (1):4/15: When introduced off leash to dogs, Sasha is bouncy and playful with males and females. She becomes overwhelmed by rougher, puppy play.
