SAFE 10/15/16

I came in the shelter as a RETURN on 10/05/2016 from NY 10016, owner surrender reason stated was HOUSE SOIL.

10/10/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/10/16 20:07 Sargento was only with his adoptive family for a few hours so they do not have many details on his personality and behavior, but they were able to tell us a little bit. Sargento seemed calm in the shelter, but when they took him home he displayed a very high activity level. He pulled hard on leash, ran around the house without being able to be stopped, jumped on counters, almost knocked over their tv, and was playing tug with their sofa. Sargento also peed inside the home one time. Client stated that Sargento was also very sweet- he was friendly with them and loved to lick and be near them. He would take treats very gently from their hands, and when he was playing with a toy a human was holding he would be very gentle. During this time, Sargento interacted with two adults.

10/11/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Say, “Cheese!” Not that you’ll need any help smiling around this force of nature. Safe to say they don’t come any cuter than Sargento. His dark chocolate coat is lush and thick (all the better to run your fingers through). And that face! His gorgeous mug starts with an adorably wrinkled brow and ends with a wet, button nose (all the better wake you with come morning). And those FEETS. Ever-so-slightly too big for his body, and with toes all dipped in white, those paws undoubtedly have one special resting place in mind–and that’s on you! Anywhere you’ll allow them. The moment I meet 1.5 year-old Sargento I’m smitten, and things only improve from there. Sargento is a lover of toys, of fun, and adventure and your best bet is just to hang on for the ride. When I reach into my bag and lean down to let him choose, “Mr. Bird, Mr. Fish, or Mr. Squeaky,” the answer of course is a rousing “ALL THREE!” And from that moment, he’s in heaven. As passersby stop to admire our boy, he greets them with a wag and a smile. Passing pups get even less of a reaction (sniff and a nod) then it’s back to the business (of playing) at hand. Not to be cheesy, but I’m just ooey gooey over this delicious creature and think he’d be the perfect “accompaniment” to any home. Don’t say “cheese!” Say “Sargento!” And get ready for a lifetime of fun. Sargento is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan’s ACC. Another volunteer writes: As cute as can be, Sargento play bows to his toys and enjoys walking with a toy in his mouth. He’s a lively little guy, snuggly, executes a perfect ‘sit’ as soon as he knows a treat is coming taking it like a perfect gentleman, and seems to be very housetrained. Affectionate when he’s played out, he’s hoping for a fun, lively family and a toy box full of toys. You’re going to love watching him play bow to his pink dog, or his green cow, or his purple pull toy (he also enjoys a good game of tug). Sargento also likes to play tug with his leash so needs some positive reinforcement training that his leash is not a toy, but he’s smart and with lots of exercise and lots of love he’ll get it. He’s looking for his new person to love him, provide whatever training is needed and love him some more. It’s going to be an easy give as he’s a totally loveable little guy. Come meet him today.
