01/20/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Hard to believe, but Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Of course you’ll want to be ready. Sure there’s always flowers, candy, cards. But your goal is a lifetime of smiles and happiness, not just one fleeting blush. Fortunately for you, there’s a crown jewel just waiting to make your acquaintance. 1.5 year-old Saphire sparkles and glows just as much, if not more than, her namesake. She is a treasure, albeit a silly, wiggly one, with the power to light up a room, a home, or a heart. On our first meeting I learned miss Saphire has one primary interest. That’s you! Sure, treats are nice, long walks fun, squeaky toys amusing for days. But Saphire’s goal is a lifetime of smiles (yours), and on that, she scores every time. Walk to the right? There she is! Take a skip to the left? Right there! Sit down on a bench? You’re not alone! You’re never alone with this gorgeous grey mouse, and once you meet her, you’ll never want to be. Saphire walks well on leash, knows her basic commands, and enjoys showering all she meets with stand-up hugs. This year, celebrate the day made for lovers with a girl made to love. Saphire is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan’s ACC.
