Sangria
Hello, my name is Sangria. My animal id is #9272. I am a female black brown dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 1 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 09-Oct-2017.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
A volunteer writes: A pretty black orchid, a shiny diamond. Sangria, a tiny gal you would never want to part from once you meet her. Sangria was a bit nervous when she arrived at the care center but with the many walks she got from staff and volunteers she relaxed and is now a smiley face at her door, welcoming visitors and accepting gladly their caresses once she is out in the open. She walks so nicely on the leash, does her business on the way(she could be house trained), leaves the pigeons alone but has an eye for the squirrels. Thankfully, we are not on the run, chasing them. Other dogs, she seems to love and romps nicely and happily with her peers through open pens. Crowds playing ball or dashing with bikes in the park do not bother her. Sangria is a petite adult, slightly muscular, just the right amount to qualify her as a girly girl going to the gym. She is friendly, sociable (she has been wary here and there meeting some people), playful and quite loving. She is a “bench girl”, cuddles with her caretaker and enjoys to be petted all over. She likes treats, sits for them and takes them gently from the hand. Being young, she can get excited when played with. In a nutshell, Sangria is a delicious, shy and spunky, sweet and playful little girl who dreams to meet you, be your student and new forever best friend. Come and meet her soon at the Manhattan Care Center.

Sangria had a loose body and waggy tail upon entering the intake room. She was barking/snapping at other dogs in the lobby. She got loose but stood put inside the intake room. The admissions counselor was able to rope, collar and snap a nice picture of her. She enjoyed treats and sat nicely.
Basic Information:: Sangria arrived to MACC as a stray.
