08/03/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/03/17 17:49 Sandy is a 3 year old female mixed breed. She has lived in the family home since she was a puppy. Sandy lived with a ten year old child and a cat. Sandy and the cat would share food bowl, respectful and tolerant of each other. She was very playful with a visiting similarly sized dog. Sandy was social and affectionate with resident child. She is not bothered if anyone touches her food, toys, or treats. She is housebroken and will bark to alert that she needs to go out. Sandy has never bitten a person or animal, but growled and rushed toward a 3 year old girl that was visiting and sitting on the kitchen floor. Owner reports Sandy was never socialized with young children, but recently learned a child was regularly throwing rocks at her whenever she was unattended in the yard. Sandy was a bit timid upon intake, but allowed all handling. She was easy to place in and out of kennel.

For these reasons we suggest a home that does not have very young children. Older children can be considered pending in-depth interaction. Potential challenges: _X_Fearful: Sandy was a bit timid upon entering the care center. She may do best with a slow approach, preferably with a treat. Sandy should never be forced to submit to handling or petting when uncomfortable. Sandy may do best in a calm, quiet, structured environment so she can acclimate to her new surroundings

When greeting a social male, Sandy quickly approaches and instantly jumps on him. She begins to tee his shoulders and once corrected by the male, Sandy over corrected back. There was no further introduction. 8/10: When muzzled and introduced to a social male, Sandy was mostly focused on her muzzle and would sometimes thrash around and bumping into the helper male. She appeared quite tense and uncomfortable. Sandy has scabs and wounds all over her body and she was scratching herself quite hard due to the muzzle, the session was ended to prevent further injury to herself.
