My name is SAMUEL. My Animal ID # is A1102731.
I am a male brown and white am pit bull ter mix. The shelter thinks I am about 3 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 02/02/2017 from NY 11207, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT
02/06/2017 Exam Type RE-EXAM – Medical Rating is 3 C – MAJOR CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is AVERAGE, Weight 51.4 LBS.

02/06/17 Coughing noted on rounds. O: BARH. Very active. mm=pink, moist. EENT: Mild serous nasal discharge. H/L: Mild dry cough. A: CIRDC. P: Move to iso. Rx Doxycycline 100 mg. 2.5 PO q 24 hours x 10 days. Excellent prognosis.

KNOWN HISTORY: None 2/2/17 Unaltered male, Stray Other notes: Upon intake Samuel was friendly, relaxed with a loose body posture. SAFER ASSESSMENT: 2/3/17 Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with tense body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, a bit distracted. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in Toy, dog may smells, then turns away. Summary: Samuel was relaxed and allowed all handling during his handling assessment. Heshowed no concerning behavior DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT: Summary PLAYGROUP: Samuel was surrendered as a stray so his past behavior around other dogs is unknown. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Samuel greets a novel female briefly, displaying neutral body language, before keeping to himself as he explores the pen. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 2/2/17 Samuel was active and alert during his initial exam. He allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (Suitable for a adopter with an average amount of dog experience).

Samuel was surrendered as a stray so his past behavior around other dogs is unknown. 2/3: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Samuel greets a novel female briefly, displaying neutral body language, before keeping to himself as he explores the pen. 2/4 -2/5: Samuel displays soft body language when interacting with male and female dogs. He mostly keeps to himself as he explores the pen. He is tolerant of a dog that mounts him.
