12/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Samantha was brought into the assessment room. With the assessor, she is a bit fearful, at first hesitant to approach, but then approaches and seems to be quite social. In the assessment room she chooses to sit next to the assessor and stays there nudging her hand for petting. She allows all handling. She also allows the assessor to carry her between rooms. She would do best in a home that is initially calm and quiet to allow her time to acclimate to her surrounding and heal. While Samantha has allowed handling by the medical and the behavior team, her current medical condition and pain medications mean she is not a candidate for a SAFER assessment at this time. This does not allow us to fully evaluate her behaviorally, so we recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can address her medical condition and then re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment.
