A volunteer writes:
Sam A1062513 is a one year old English bulldog Mix. He is being surrendered because his owner is sick. She recieved him as a birthday gift from her son. HIs last vet visit was in 2015 and he has no known health issues.
Socialization
Sam is very outgoing and friendly with strangers. He loves to play and run around. He loves to lick and jump up to greet. He plays exuberantly with chidlren and with other dogs. He lived in a home with a cat. The owner said that sometimes he overwhelms the cat and she hides from him. He has not bitten anyone or any other animal.
behavior
Sam’s owner is sick and cannot walk him. He has been mostly kept indoors. He uses wee wee pads in the home. She said that he tolerates bathing but since he is so high energy, its very hard for her to bathe him. He likes to be brushed and does not mind nail trimming. He is not bothered when you take his food bowl, treats or toys away from him. He is not bothered when restrained or pushed off the furniture.
For a new family to know
Sam is described as friendly, affectionate, loving, energetic, excitable, playful, and cuddly. He slept in his crate with his bed. He loved to play with the cat and his toys. He was fed Pedigree and Purina. He knows how to sit, stay, down and come in spanish.
Behavior during intake
Sam is very friendly. He jumped up to greet staff members and pulled on the leash to greet everyone. He jumped on the counter to sniff me and licked a staff members face. He allowed to be scanned(-), collared and photographed. He took treats. He tolerated all petting and allowed to be transferred into a kennel.
