Summary: Sachi was friendly but distracted with noises outside the assessment room. PLAYGROUP: Sachi’s previous guardians did not provide any information of Sachi’s behavior towards other dogs. Due to Sachi’s DOH status, a muzzle was placed on him. When greeting a female dog, Sachi displays a stiff body and hard stares. Once in the pen, Sachi lowers his body and slowly crouches towards the female. Due to his display of stalking behavior, he was not allowed to greet the other dog. The Behavior Department recommends that Sachi not be placed in a home with other pets. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 4/16/17: During his medical examination, Sachi was fractious but allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Sachi so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. However, he is a young, enthusiastic dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm.
RECOMMENDATIONS: New Hope Only _X_No children (under 13): Due to Sach’si previous bite history, we feel an adult-only home would be most beneficial at this time. _x_Single-pet home/Recommend no dog parks: Due to Sachi’s display of stalking behavior towards other dogs, the Behavior Department recommends that he be the only resident pet at this time.
