Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. Allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds.
Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag: 1. Dog follows at the end of the leash, body soft.
Paw squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his/her paw.
Paw squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his/her paw.
Toy: 2. Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His/her body is between you and the toy, and is loose and wiggly. No growling or stiffness.
Summary: Sabrina came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, she was friendly and affectionate towards the handlers.
PLAY GROUP :
Sabrina was surrender as a stray so her past behavior with other dogs is unknown.
6/27: When off leash at the Care Centers, Sabrina enters the pens with a soft neutral posture. She is a bit persistent with her muzzle greets but eventually moves away and explores the yard. She occasionally checks in with the greeter.
6/28: Sabrina continues to explore the yard, frequently checking in with the greeter.
