01/29/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: The name, that look, his affable and affectionate personality–I love everything about Rufus and you will too! As a 70-plus pound hunk, he might look ‘a bit much’ at first glance but fear not, he’s as friendly and easy to handle as can be and it’s obvious from his velveteen coat and great manners that someone had been taking good care of him before he arrived at our door. Rufus is a strong guy of course, but his leash etiquette is gracious and I have no issues keeping up while we stroll the yard and he sniffs all around, quickly taking care of his business before we stop for a play break. It’s no surprise to find he’s not that into toys, Rufus has a more mature energy than most youngsters his age but it does seem he’s a dog after my own heart because he loves food with almost as much passion as he does his friends! He’ll sit like a pro to snuffle treats from my hand before offering up wet-nosed thank you kisses in return and even gives stand-up hugs on demand–what a star! If you’ve been searching for a pet who’s active but not hyper, loving but not clingy and so stunning he’ll literally turn heads wherever you go then look no further than sweet Rufus. You’ll find him at our Manhattan Care Center, ready and waiting to be the sun at the center of your world…
