01/26/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
01/26/16 18:17 BASIC INFO Ruckie is a 1.5 year old APBT / American Bulldog mix. His family got him from a friend when he was 1.5 months old. They surrendered him due to landlord conflict. SOCIALIZATION Ruckie is friendly/outgoing with new people. He plays exuberantly with adults. He’s relaxed, playful, tolerant, and plays exuberantly with all of the dogs he meets on walks and at the dog park. He’s never bit anyone. BEHAVIOR Ruckie chews slippers and shoes. He doesn’t mind storms. He’s friendly with new people who approach his home/family. He doesn’t mind when someone takes his food/treat/toy, moves him off furniture, holds/restrains him, wakes him up, bathes him, brushes him, or trims his nails. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Ruckie’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, excitable, and high energy. He follows his family around. He likes balls, stuffed toys, and chew toys and plays fetch and chase. He lived inside and slept in a pop-up crate at night. He ate dry and wet Pedigree food with rice. He’s housetrained and potties both outside on grass when walked and on wee-wee pads when kept inside. He doesn’t have accidents. He was left loose in the home during the day and is well-behaved if food is put away. He knows sit. He played in the yard, went for brisk walks and runs, and played off-leash at the dog park. He usually walks nicely on his leash but pulls in new settings like at ACC. INTAKE Ruckie had a very loose, wiggly body, open mouth, and wagging tail while we pet him, scanned him (-), collared him, and positioned him for pictures. He jumped up and leaned into us while we pet him. He sniffed and licked us. He sat when asked and took treats nicely.
01/30/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Ruckie had us laughing….we head out back and a staff person was rearranging a storage closet – a Kong dropped out of her hand, and Ruckie walked right over and picked it up – was he trying to help or looking for something to play with? Either way – it was funny and Ruckie got to bring his Kong into the pen with us :). Handsome and friendly, Ruckie was surrendered by the only family he’s ever known due to landlord issues. We’re told he’s friendly and outgoing to all people, loves toys, plays fetch and chase, slept in his crate at night, is housetrained and wee wee pad trained, loves playing with dogs in a dog park, and likes brisk walks and runs with his person. Ruckie showed off all his skills, including taking a treat gently. He hopped up on the bench when I invited him, draping himself across my lap for some snuggle time. He gives delicious gentle kisses and stand up hugs and has a lovely soft energy. We’re told that Ruckie is well behaved when left home alone when food, shoes and slippers are put away. So, take an inventory, make sure things are put away and come meet Ruckie. He’s a terrific dog making the best out of his new situation but would love a new family to take care of.

01/27/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Ruckie engages in bouncy, runing play with intent to mount (he is currently unaltered). He has not yet been introduced to other males but greets them politely. His owner reports that around other dogs Ruckie is “relaxed, playful, tolerant, and plays exuberantly with all of the dogs he meets on walks and at the dog park.” Based on this information the behavior department recommends Ruckie have a pre-adoption interaction before going to a home with other dogs.
