Not unsettled by loud noises. Ruby likes to bring her leash out to show she’s ready for her walk. Ruby knows how to sit, stay and give paw. She was in the process of learning how to heal. Ruby is known to be a good listner, she’s also house broken. Hasnt been known to have an accident.

Ruby was lying in front of the door and the dog walker pushed the door open into Ruby and Ruby jumped up and bit the dog walker’s hand, breaking skin. Housetrained: Yes Energy level/descriptors: Ruby is described as playful SAFER ASSESSMENT: 7/18/17 Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. ENERGY LEVEL: Ruby’s previous owner described her as playful. In the care center, she displays a medium level of activity. RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced adopter, adult-only home (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially with behaviors outlined below) _X_No children (under 13): Due to Ruby’s bite history, we recommend an adult only home. Potential challenges: _X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression: Ruby has bitten when in a situation where she was afraid. This behavior could occur in times of high stress. At the care center, she has displays social behavior with all handlers. It is important to always go slow and give Ruby the option to walk away from any social interaction. Ruby should never be forced to approach anything that she is uncomfortable with or to submit to petting or handling. It should always be Ruby’s choice to approach a new person or thing.
