DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT: Summary PLAYGROUP: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Ruby displays slight assertive posturing with male and female dogs. She solicits and engages in gentle play, but chooses to not engage in higher energy play. Ruby was surrendered as a stray so her past behavior around dogs is unknown. The Behavior Department recommends that Ruby be placed with well-socialized, tolerant dogs that match her gentle play style. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 5/16/17: During her medical examination, Ruby was friendly and attention seeker, she allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Ruby so we cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment. However, she is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep her engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct her energy and enthusiasm. RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)
