I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 06/16/2016 from NY 11369, owner surrender reason stated was OWN EVICT. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-061771.

06/16/16 19:03 Basic info Ruby is a 6 year old dog that was surrendered because the previous owner is being evicted from his home. Ruby is a very friendly dog. Ruby has never suffered any health issues or injuries. Ruby has been to the vet about 6 months ago. Socialization Ruby is a great dog. With strangers Ruby is relaxed and super friendly. She loves head rubs so she will walk up to stranger for one. Ruby has lived with another large dog for the past 6 ½ years. Ruby slept and ate with the other dog, however when ruby see’s other dogs she doesn’t know she will stop and look and then keep walking. Ruby tends to bark at smaller dogs. Ruby has also been around children ages 7 and up. Behavior Ruby is a very trained and well behaved dog. Ruby has never bitten anyone or animal. Client stated ruby hasn’t even growled ever. Ruby is good with baths and brushing. Ruby allows her food and toys to be taken away with no issue. Ruby is house trained and uses newspaper to pee and poop while in the home. Ruby is also crate trained. For a new family to know Ruby is loving and affectionate dog. Ruby would be great in a family home. Ruby has a high activity level. Ruby loves all toys and like playing tug. Ruby eats Harpo dry food and once in a while the previous owner treated her with humane food such as chicken and liver. Ruby does pull on the leash slightly when she gets excited. Behavior Upon Intake: Ruby was super approachable and friendly upon intake. Ruby allowed to be rubbed. Ruby allowed all handling

Ruby previously lived with adults and children ages 7 years old and up. The owner stated Ruby is friendly and relaxed around strangers, adults and children. The owner mentioned Ruby lived with another large dog and did multiple activities together. It was reported by the owner Ruby is house trained, wee-wee pad trained, crate trained and has a high activity level. According to the owner Ruby is loving and affectionate. At intake it was reported Ruby was very friendly and allowed all handling. During SAFER Ruby came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, she was very friendly and social towards the assessor. She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Ruby was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Ruby was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Ruby appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Toy: 1. No interest.

Ruby’s previous owner reported that she lived with another dog for 6 years and they got along very well however with strange dogs she is disinterested and she may bark at small dogs on the street. 6/20: When off leash with other dogs in the Care Center, Ruby greets the helper dog at the fence with a low head and soft posturing. Once inside the pen she appears nervous, with a tucked tail and her body becomes tenser. She spends most of the time avoiding interactions with the helper dog.
