Medical Summary scan neg ~8-10yrs, female intact barh. allows all handling except around mouth. severe dental tartar/gingivitis, gingivial recession, ruptured abscess below left eye, early nuclear sclerosis ou, no ocular or nasal discharge, ears wnl normal thoracic auscultation; normal abdominal palpation live fleas, alopecia and dermatitis at caudal dorsum, mild dermatitis ventral abdomen; ambulatory x 4 a: geriatric, dental disease, ruptured abscess below left eye — rule out tooth root abscess vs other p: cleaned around wound (ruptured abscess), ~2ml serosanguinous fluid expressed administered buprenex 0.23ml sq and clindamycin 3ml po. rec buprenex 0.23ml q12 x 3 days and clindamycin 3ml po q24 x 5 days. rec full geriatric work up and dental with extractions and follow up care for abscess. permanently waived from spay due to age, dermatitis and dental disease. good prognosis with appropriate care.
