A volunteer writes: Zoombini seems like a great name for a magician. Our Zoombini is a Don Juan in disguise. He is a very attractive young man with the sweetest and most seductive eyes. He is a gentle guy, sometimes outgoing and sometimes shy, at times serious and at others, flashing a lovely smile. He wags his tail a lot, wiggles softly his body and responds with a happy demeanor to dogs barking at him. Zoombini might have a point here, a strategy to derail aggression. Zoombini is a great walker, eliminates on the way, sits on command (not for treats as he does not like any of those I presented to him) and nears like a cool cat all other dogs met on the way. He poses dutifully for the pictures, not minding to be tethered. His favorite thing is to lay down with his caretaker, the head in her lap and probably dream of a better future…as a beloved pet and a loyal companion. Come and meet magic Zoombini at the Manhattan Care Center and make him your forever best friend.
Another volunteer writes: Zoombinis are little blue creatures, intelligent, good hearted, friendly and trusting. Our Zoombini may not be blue, but he is all of the above and more. A stop-and-smell-the-roses walker on leash, he pottied forever as soon as we were out the door, is a bit nervous with sudden movements and loud noises and is as gentle and sweet as can be. His tail wags gently when I talk to him, and it’s like a gift he bestows on a special friend. He ignored other dogs we passed, and when I sat down on the sidewalk to take some notes, he came into my lap for cuddling. He and I sat together like two old friends, watching people and dogs pass. We discussed current events, which brand of dog food he likes best and other things of interest. He’s quiet, attentive, a brilliant listener, and I loved every moment with him. Off leash with a female helper dog, he was soft and bouncy. Back in his kennel, I sat with him for a moment, and we hugged and kissed as I promised him that his new person or family would find him soon. Won’t you help make my promise to this awesome dog come true?
