06/07/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE

Upon intake it was reported Rose Gold was relaxed and calm, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Rose Gold came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, she was social towards the assessor, and allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Rose Gold was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resource portion of the assessment Rose Gold was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Rose Gold appears to be sociable, and did not display any behavior concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely open for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play ends. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, smells, then turns away. Dog-Dog:6-6/7 Rose Gold was used as a greeter dog today. She greeted new dogs with soft body language. She solicited play and was respectful of nervous dogs.

Rose Gold was surrendered as a stray. Her finder stated that Rose Gold was well behaved and got along well with his German Shepherd/ Rotty mix. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Rose Gold is utilized as a greeter dog. She displays soft body language throughout most interactions, though may be initially slightly assertive with females, but is able to continue play. She will solicit and engage in play with playful dogs and will respect nervous dogs. ** Social Helper Dog ** 6/5: Rose Gold greets and is slightly uncomfortable at first. She wanders in the pen and becomes more relaxed as the session continues. 6/6-6/7: Rose Gold was used as a greeter dog today. She greeted new dogs with soft body language. She solicited play and was respectful of nervous dogs. 6/8: Rose Gold was introduced to a female dog today. Initially Rose Gold showed slight assertive posturing, placing her chin on the other female and attempting to mount. She immediately listened to handler interruptions and continued to engage and solicit gentle play.
