Medical Summary scan: neg. sex: male (unilateral cryptorchid) est age: 4 mos S/O: Puppy is QARH EENT – clear T – 102.6, P – 120, R – sniff; mm – pink, moist; crt < 2s Heart/lungs auscult wnl NWB RR – thigh is swollen and there is crepitus on palpation Only one testicle palpable scrotally NOSF A: Comminuted mid-diaphyseal femur fx; unilateral cryptorchid P: Sedated with 0.5cc dexmedetomidine and 0.5cc hydromorphone IM @ 5:25pm Took radiographs – rt lat femur, VD pelvis, rt lat thorax and VD thorax Reversed with 0.5cc Atipamezole IM Start on Rimadyl 25mg PO BID and 0.60cc buprenorphine 0.5mg/mL SQ BID Recommend rescue placement, ideally fx would be fixed surgically but amputation is also an option PROGNOSIS: Good
