I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 05/10/2016 from NY 11370, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES.

05/10/16 15:19 BASIC INFORMATION: Rosco is a brown Beagle mix. Rosco was given to owner as a gift & has has allergies, Rosco was not tested for what he is specifically allergic to but previous owner believes the allergies are due to allergies and sensitivity towards food. Rosco was surrendered to ACC due to owners severe allergies. SOCIALIZATION: Rosco is friendly around strangers and loves getting pet. Rosco has been exposed around young children, Rosco gets along with children & adults. Rosco has been exposed around another dog & was very playful. Rosco has not been exposed to cats. Rosco has not bitten or scratched another animal or person. Rosco is best described as a loving, affectionate & playful dog. BEHAVIOR: Rosco does not show signs of aggression when owner touches food bowl while he is eating. Owner is able to take bone, toy or any object from his mouth with no problem. Rosco enjoys bathing and grooming, when an unfamiliar person approaches the home, he barks & makes the owner aware. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Rosco has a high activity level. Owners favorite things of Rosco is, he is extremely affectionate & is always there to greet the owner. he loves to play fetch & would do best in a family home or a single person home with a lot of energy & time. Rosco is familiar with the commands sit, stop & come. For exercise, he loves to go out for brisk walks. Rosco will pull slightly & has been kept mostly indoors. He enjoys eating dry food from any brand as long as it is gluten & grain free. Rosco will go potty on grass. BEHAVIOR UPON INTAKE: Upon intake, Rosco displayed a loose body & an open mouth. Rosco loved to receive attention from the counselor. Rosco allowed all handling & scanned positive.

Rosco walks calmly on leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Rosco had a low body position during the tag test, but followed the assessor at the end of the leash. He was not interested in toys. Rosco was surrender to us. According to his previous owner Rosco is friendly around strangers and loves getting pet. Rosco gets along with children, adults and dogs. Rosco does not show signs of aggression when owner touches food bowl while he is eating. Owner is able to take bone, toy or any object from his mouth with no problem”. Rosco did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that he can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. No interest. Playgroup Notes: When off leash with other dogs, Rosco greets and sniffs, then roams the pen.
