09/17/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Rosco was surrendered by an owner who gave him the highest marks: Only recently, he was living with children ages 2-8, with whom he was “relaxed and respectful”; he was also lovingly sharing that home with a cat. He was nice to strangers (we can attest to that!), can have toys and food taken away no problem, and was never anything other than kind and “exuberant” at play. Indeed, Mr. Rosco, who knows “sit”, is house trained, and is a lover extraordinaire, has both kindness and exuberance going for him. He’s a gorgeous, young boy who is desperate for a little exercise to get his yayas out, just like too many of us. So we’re thinking…. if you’re looking to get a little exercise, and think a companion would do the trick, do we have the dog for you! And if you happen to have cats, and kids…all the better it would appear, as far as Rosco is concerned. This high energy boy would do best in a home without squirrels, but really-who wouldn’t? This gorgeous, generous companion is waiting to be your running buddy, or just your dog run buddy!

A volunteer writes: A majestic elegance…that’s Rosco…..the perfect date with whom to end my day. Given as a gift to his former owner, and surrendered to our care as that person did not have time for him, we’re told that he lived with a 1 year old and was relaxed and respectful, lived with another pit bull, a shih Tzu and a cat and was relaxed and respectful to all. We’re also told he’s housetrained (check), crate trained but doesn’t like it, and knows ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’ and ‘give paw’. Rosco is a gorgeous dog, quiet in his kennel and happy to join me for a late afternoon walk. His gorgeous glide/walk is a dream on the leash until he sees a squirrel he simply must meet. Sorry Rosco, Mr. Squirrel does not want to meet you! He showed me his sit in exchange for a treat which he takes gently, and is low key and easy to be with. In group play he sniffed his hellos to others but did not interact, which is as his former owner told us. Not playful, but no issues with other dogs. Rosco is hoping to find his new family quickly as he’s ready to begin the next chapter in his life. Stop by to meet him today.
A volunteer writes: This handsome boy is my ’emotional therapy dog’ and after hours of trying to wrangle rowdy pups who would rather not pose for their pictures, it’s such a treat to take him out for a stroll (or as my colleague so aptly put it, a gliiiide) and bask in the absolute perfection that is Rosco. Always happy to see me, always a gentleman and always ready to show off his tricks for a treat, he’s one of the most reliable dogs you could hope to meet and will be such an amazing ‘rock’ for his lucky adopter. Rosco is toddler, dog and even cat approved and ready to move into your heart and home as soon as possible, please don’t make him wait too long!
