07/07/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/07/16 14:44 Rooger is a 6 year old American Pit-Bull Terrier. He was given to owner as a gift and has been in his care since a puppy. He is being surrendered into the center due to personal problems. There are no known health injurie or concerns. Around strangers he is friendly and exuberant when playing. He has spent time with children and is usually tolerant, also exuberant. He lived with another female dog same breed and was relaxed and playful, was gentle when playing and other times somewhat rough. He has bitten a person on 7/4/16 but no skin was broken or blood drawn. You are able to touch his food bowl while he is eating, and is friendly when treats, objects or toys are being taken away. He is good with baths; but when you get to his head he will struggle or walk away. He has never had his nails trimmed and is friendly when his coat is being brushed. When unfamiliar people approach the home he will bark, when unfamiliar people approach you he isn’t bothered. Rooger is described as being friendly, affectionate and playful with a high activity level that would do best in a home with a yard. When home he will follow you around or sit in his favorite spot. He will play with his toy balls and chews; also will enjoy a game of chase or wrestling. He is mostly indoors and ate both wet and dry food. He is house trained and rarely has accidents within the home. When left alone in the yard or home he is well behaved. He knows such commands as “come”. For exercise he goes on off leash walks or plays in the yard. On the leash he will pull very hard, off leash he will wander but come when called. Usually he will potty on the grass .
07/14/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: ROOGER! Not only does this guy have the prettiest blue eyes on that big handsome head of his, he also has the softest personality! He is very quiet in his cage, but when I take him out I can tell how excited he is because he will rub against me like a cat as we make our way outside. We’re told he is housebroken (he seems it!), has a high activity level and is very well-behaved when left alone. He previously lived harmoniously with a female dog, likes to play with balls, hasn’t shown any guarding issues, and loved to follow his owner around the house. He is definitely into scoping out the new environment he finds himself in, cocking his head at sounds and making a map with his news, but still wags his tail when I talk to him. When I do have all of his attention he gives me his ALL. He is so, so, soo cuddly and sweet. As he makes his way over he offers the best soft wiggly wag and then promptly places himself in my lap! He’ll sit there, shimmy around so I can pet all of his “spots,” or lean against me. He makes heart-melting eye contact and thoroughly kisses my face. Did I mention he is SO SWEET?? He could be your Roo! Please come meet him at Brooklyn ACC!
