08/31/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rogue previously lived with adults and children ages 2 and up. The owner stated Rogue is relaxed and playful around the children and adults but when strangers come over the house she barks and but slowly warms up to new people. The owner mentioned Rogue is house trained. The owner describes Rogue as confident, playful and affectionate. At intake it was reported Rogue was tense with her tail tucked, she growled at the counselor so handling was conducted by the owner. During SAFER Rogue came into the assessment room nervous and timid, she was not interested with the assessor. Not all handling items were able to be conducted as Rogue bared her teeth and lunged at the assessor when attempting to coax and pet her. She displayed no interest in the toy resource item during this portion of the assessment. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue that can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Toy: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash at the care center, Rogue slowly enters the pen with a nervous posture. She attempts to keep her distance from the other dog, displaying clear signals that she is uncomfortable when greeted, with lip licks and whale eyes. She wanders the pen with a low head, and slightly tucked tail.
