12/22/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Rocky is a handsome boy. He sports a beautiful tan coat with a dashing white shirt vest. This boy is three years old, the perfect age for adoption. He is past the hassles of puppydom and yet has many miles on his odometer to spend with you. Come meet Rocky now. He is patiently awaiting your arrival. Another volunteer writes: There are some dogs that you have an instant connection with and then there are the ones that tend to grow on you over time and then all of a sudden you realize just how much you adore them. Don’t get me wrong, Rocky has always been sweet and mild mannered. He pulls a bit on the leash, but he’s very housebroken and always eager to relieve himself. I’m not sure when it happened, but, I started to realize just how much I look forward to spending time with him each time I volunteer. There’s something so magnetic about his personality. Faced with his third stay with us, he seems to make lemons out of lemonade. He’s happy, he’s playful, and he has a quirky little attitude that emerges the more you get to know him. Recently, during our time in the yard, he was happily playing fetch with me. Upon realizing the pup in the adjacent pen had a ball, he got so jealous! Suddenly his ball wasn’t sufficient enough and he wanted to play with hers! He would retrieve his ball, drop it and look longingly at hers…approach the fence line and tail wag and make loving eyes at the ball across the way. What a silly boy! When not distracted, he’s quite athletic! He loves to run, fetch, and even drops the ball on command. He has a few other tricks up his sleeve too: he knows sit, down and give paw! He’s so food motivated that I can imagine he can be taught pretty much anything. It might have taken me a little more time to really appreciate what a gem Rocky is, but I am sure it won’t take you more than a few minutes. Ask to meet him today!
