I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 03/20/2016 from NY 11213, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB.

03/20/16 17:53 Basic Information: Rocky is a one year old min pinscher mix who likes running and standing on his hind legs to greet people. Socialization: Around strangers Rocky is friednly, outgoing, and plays exuberantly with adults. Rocky has lived with children ages 3, 6, and 8; around them Rocky is relaxed and plays exuberantly. Rocky has never been around any other dogs or cats so it is unknwon how he will react to them. Rocky has neevr bitten another person or animal. Behavior: Rocky is not bothered by loud sounds such as thunder storms or fire works. Rocky is friendly when someone touches his food or bowl while he is eating, takes a treat, toy or other object while he is using it or pushes/pulls him off of the furniture. Rocky is also friendly when being given a bath, having his nails trimmed, being brushed, or being held/restrained. If an unfamiliar person approached Rocky’s family or home Rocky is friendly toward them, For a New Family to Know: Rocky is described as: frendly, affectionate, playful, confident, mellow, and excitable with a medium activity level. When at home Rocky will follow around his owner and likes to play with balls, stuffed toys, squeaky toys and rope. Rocky likes to play fetch and tug-o-war. Rocky was kept indoors only and was fed dry food twice a day. Rocky is house trained and may have an accident a few times a month. When left alone in a house Rocky is well behaved. Rocky has not been crate trained and does not do well in them. Rocky knows the commands: sit and stay. For exercise Rocky likes off leash dog parks, running and jogging. Rocky may pull lightly on a leash. Rocky will usually go to the bathroom on grass. Intake Behavior: Rocky allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pictures with no signs of aggression. Rocky was verty friendly and greeted staff with a touch from his nose and allowd petting.

03/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rocky previously lived with 1 adult and children ages 3, 6, and 8 years old. The owner stated when around the children Rocky is relaxed and plays exuberantly. The owner describes Rocky as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, mellow, and excitable. The owner mentioned Rocky is house trained, has a medium activity level and is well behaved when home alone. At intake it was reported rocky was friendly and allowed all handling. During SAFER Rocky came into the assessment room tense, he was not interested with the assessor. Handling items were not conducted as Rocky growls, lunges and try to bite at the assessor when attempting to leash him. He displayed no interest in the toy item during this portion of the assessment. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: Rocky was abled to be collared today. When greeting at the fence he barked, bounce, lunged and appeared extremely anxious. When entering the pen he attempted to charge the helper dog but was held back and allowed to approach again. He continued his hyper-motivated approach, all while barking and lunging.

03/23/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION

While attempting to collar Rocky for playgroup, he would leap up, spin and head whip to avoid being handled. We were unable to collar him today but did do a fence greeting. He approached with a wiggly body, bouncy with play bows. 3/24 update: Rocky was able to be collared today. When greeting at the fence he barked, bounce, lunged and appeared extremely anxious. When entering the pen he attempted to charge the helper dog but was held back and allowed to approach again. He continued his hyper-motivated approach, all while barking and lunging.
